A non-matriculated applicant is an adult who does not meet the normal high school diploma requirements for admission. Emily Carr University reserves the right to determine whether or not an applicant can apply under this category. Non-matriculated applicant status is restricted to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents of Canada who are 21 years of age or older. This determination is not made on the sole criterion of age, and applicants will be required to present a satisfactory grade of ‘C’ or higher in a senior-level English literature course.

Accelerated Summer Foundation
California State University-Fullerton offers 11 Art and Design degree programs. In 2022, 551 Art and Design students graduated with students earning 500 Bachelor's degrees, 48 Master's degrees, and 3 Certificates. In 2022, 549 Art and Design students graduated with students earning 431 Bachelor's degrees, and 118 Master's degrees. Sculpture + Expanded Practices
Emily Carr University of Art + Design (ECUAD) offers the Creative Art Pathway (CAP) program for potential Emily Carr Students who have conditional acceptance to ECUAD, but who do not meet the English Language proficiency requirements for admission. This program will provide English proficiency upgrading courses and also allow students to take Emily Carr studio courses. Through expanding your conceptual, technical, and historical knowledge at our fine arts school, you will be inspired to add depth to your practice and potential as an artist. Engaging in research and production, presentation and critique will prepare you to contribute to contemporary creative society and the broad global cultural economy.
Completion of the highest level of secondary education available in your home country, in a program leading directly to university entrance. You require at least a C+ (67) average in the five courses that most closely match the British Columbia requirements. Grade 12 graduation with a minimum grade point average of 2.5 (C+) calculated on five grade 12 courses that are equivalent to the applicants from British Columbia and Yukon requirements, including senior-level English with a minimum grade of C. If you are applying after two years of CEGEP, you must have completed a two-year academic diploma program with a minimum of two English Literature courses. First-year transfer credit will be considered for students completing the two-year CEGEP diploma. The Shumka Centre for Creative Entrepreneurship gives students the guidance and resources they need to launch a variety of projects, from companies and products to curatorial initiatives and events.
